Our short-term and long-term skilled nursing care features additional specialty care services including:
Certified Alzheimer’s/dementia care unit
Our certified memory care program is a secure memory care neighborhood offering specialized, supportive care for those living with memory loss and is a certified Alzheimer’s and dementia care unit as designated by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health.
We are very proud of our wound care outcomes. Part of our success results from having a certified wound nurse on staff who specializes in wound care and assists in assessing, treating and managing surgical wounds, pressure ulcers, diabetic ulcers, and related wound and skin conditions.
Diabetes management and education
Our clinical staff provides the education and support patients need to manage their diabetes. Education includes protocols for proper testing and monitoring to achieve successful outcomes after transferring home.
IV infusion therapies
Our enhanced clinical capabilities allow us to provide highly specialized care outside of a hospital setting. When needed, patients can receive IV hydration on site to reduce the need for hospitalization. Our care team is trained in continuous IV infusion enabling treatment of advanced heart failure with Milrinone.
Restorative nursing care is that “little extra help” for those who don’t necessarily need rehab, but still need additional assistance to continue improving or to maintain their current level of independence. From exercises to increase or maintain strength and mobility to assistance with dining, patients receive the encouragement, cues, and support they need.
We also arrange for specialized care, as needed, with a variety of medical professionals available to provide care on-site at Charlene Manor Extended Care Facility:
- Mental Health
- Portable x-ray and lab services
